Simply Sugar and Gluten Free Cookbook Review and Giveaway!

I am so ready to post this review and giveaway!  Amy, who writes for Simply Sugar and Gluten Free has just published this fabulous cookbook SS & GF (Simply Sugar and Gluten Free).  As I have become more involved in the gluten free community, I have found that there are so many people who have to do without so many other ingredients besides gluten.  So many are sugar free, corn free, dairy free, just to name a few!  I am so excited that there are so many great cookbooks to accomodate these people.  I have a friend of ours who goes to church with us who has had her child on a sugar free diet for a while now and is now adding gluten free as well.  I was so excited that I could recommend this cookbook for her!  Amy has not used refined sugars or  wheat since 2004.  She has lost over 60 lbs since!   Amazing!
SS & GF contains everything from snacks and soups/salads to main dishes, cookies, cupcakes, pies, and so much more!   She has some really great sweet treats!  One of my favorites is her Peanut Butter Hot Fudge Cake.   Oh my, so yummy!  One of my favorite main dishes is her Shredded Chicken Tortilla Soup.  Yes, I did say one of my favorites on both of those, only because there are so many tasty options in this cookbook.  I am amazed mostly by the desserts.  That they can taste so good without so much sugar!  (I use entirely too much sugar in my cooking)  Amy would fall out if she saw how much I put in my recipes!  But…I am learning 🙂  and I am loving this cookbook to help me.  It is such a better way of eating.   And so good for my kids.
This book has such a great reference in the back as well.  She tells all the gluten free kitchen essentials you need for your pantry and refrigerator.  She tells you her favorite kitchen tools and supplies and how to organize your kitchen.  I always love having the handy conversions available and acceptable ingredient substitutions.
There are so many great things I could say about this cookbook and I could keep going on and on about all the recipes and how great they taste, but I will leave some of that for you to find out!  The only negative thing I could find about this cookbook is that there are no pictures of the foods besides what is on the cover.  I like pictures!
Amy is going to give one of my readers your own copy of Simply Sugar and Gluten Free!
This giveaway will end MAY 31, 2011 @10:00pm CST.
